New bars opening in Sacramento, California

The nightlife scene in Sacramento is absolutely exploding, with a whole host of new bars, new restaurants, and new clubs opening up in just the last few years.

These new hotspots are completely transforming historic parts of Sacramento into the “place to be” on weekend nights, but are also offering the weekday crew a places to stop in for a quick bite to eat, a cocktail or two, and even an experience that is pretty well set up for the entire family.

If you’ve been thinking about checking out some of the new bars that are opening in Sacramento over the last year or so, and want to keep your radar up for new places as they open up in the years to come, you’ve come to the right place.

Hopefully we are going to be able to point you in the right direction as far as some of these new places are concerned, giving you exactly the kind of experience that you are after. A lot of these places are run by seasoned veterans of the nightlife scene (their second or third venue), but a few of them are run by total rookies that are having just as much – if not more – success and really changing the Sacramento seen completely.

We are going to break down three of the hottest new bars opening in Sacramento, the kinds of bars that you absolutely MUST check out if you get the chance!

Let’s dive right in!

Joe Marty’s

If you’ve been a local in Sacramento for at least 10 years, the odds are pretty good that you remember legendary sports bar Joe Marty’s as a stable of the Sacramento nightlife for quite a while.

Unfortunately, the business closed up shop about 10 years ago after a major fire ripped right through the bar – but its opening up once again after 10 years, and it is even better now than it ever was before.

An absolute landmark in the Sacramento community, new investors are planning to bring back the Joe Marty’s sports bar with all the same ambience and atmosphere that the original enjoyed. The baseball theme that helped make this the friendly bar that it was is coming back, and the “mini museum” is going to be reestablished as well.

The people that are investing in this project are serious about breathing new life into Joe Marty’s, going so far as to contact as many of the previous staff members and managers as possible to learn more about what really made that bar the hotspot that it was.

They are trying to resuscitate and reinvigorate the this atmosphere, looking to create the same kind of neighborhood feel that the old bar enjoyed while at the same time dragging it into the 21st century. For Land Park residents, it is an overdue welcome addition to the neighborhood.  According to Sacramento Personal Injury Attorney Michael Rehm, it should have been designated a Historic landmark years ago. But a focus on the past, as great as it is with Joe Marty’s, is not the point of this article. It is the bright future that the historic venue will provide. It’s going to be very, very exciting to see how things shake up, and we can’t wait for the doors to open this summer.

B Side Bar

In most bars around the major cities of the United States you get the same kind of feel in the same kind of atmosphere as you would at any other. There’s nothing to really differentiate one watering hole from the next, aside from the people that are pulled up on stools or huddled in booths.

The B Side Bar is not promising that kind of experience.

Breathing new life into what was originally one of the hottest clubs in the 1940s, the Monte Carlo Club, the B Side Bar is dedicated to bringing back the 1970s style and flair that some of the hottest places in Sacramento were known for back then.

A giant hi-fi sits above the doorway to this bar, and absolutely everything about this bar is catered towards creating an audio experience that everyone is going to fall in love with. Live music is anticipated, though there will always be something spending on the record player when visitors pop into the B Side Bar.

It’s all about deep cuts here (the cuts played on the “B side”), and it’s already shaping up to be a lot of fun!

Amaro Battalion Bistro & Bar

If you’re after authentic Italian food in Sacramento, or just want to grab some pub grub while you enjoy a cocktail at the bar, you’re going to fall in love with everything that the Amaro Battalion Bistro & Bar brings to the table.

One of the newest bars/restaurants to pop up in Sacramento, it’s already won the 2015 Diners Choice from Open Table, as well as a mountain of other accolades that have this listed amongst one of the hottest new spots to eat or drink in all of Sacramento County.

Authentic food created from some of the best ingredients of all of California (as well as one of the most extensive wine lists from the very best of the best in Italy) will greet you every time that you sit down at the Amaro Battalion Bistro & Bar.

This is can’t miss dining in Sacramento!

MoMo’s Meat Market at 5776 Broadway in Sacramento

Just slightly lesser-known than some of the other barbecue hotspots in the Sacramento County (which isn’t a bad thing when you’re looking for great BBQ on a weekend night), this is a little bit off the beaten path, but well worth the trip.

The barbecue here is smoky, spicy, and sweet all at the same time – in the pulled pork is something that you’re definitely going to want to write home about. The average wait time is usually right around 15 to 30 minutes, but you’ll be able to enjoy free samples while you wait. It really doesn’t get a lot better than this!

If you want to try something really special at MoMo’s Meat Market, make sure that you check out the jalapeno macaroni and cheese or the smoked full chickens. These are there number one best sellers!

South East Asian BBQ at 557 Eleanor Ave in Sacramento

A little bit different than the traditional barbecue that you’re probably used to in America, this is barbecue with a Vietnamese flair – and it is beyond exceptional.

A little bit different than Korean BBQ (an absolute staple here in Sacramento County), this place brings together all of the very distinct South East Asian flavors you’d expect from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia with a couple of exciting twists you’ll only find here.

Try out the wings and the khao poon (a soup made with intensely flavored and fork tender pork) – you won’t regret it!

Westcoast BBQ at 8112 Sheldon Road in Elk Grove
